YUP a tunnel ram will make a lot of power with the 2x750cfm eddy carbs.
It is another GOOD way to go fast. You can test that too against the RPM air gap dual quad. The RPM dual quad will get within 3/10th ET in the quarter I bet all said and done. Starting with a 406 CID motor (instead of a wimpy 377) is a BIG advantage.
It will rev up plenty high if you let it EAT.

There is no compairing this manifold to a tunnel ram or even a single 4 victor. My only experence with two fours was working on a friends 331 with a tunnel ram and two 660s back in the early seventies. I dont see this manifold in as cast anywhere near able to flow even 280 maybe close with someone that knows what they are doing close to 280. Just dont want to have a manifold that is really bad restriction. As far as the 1 inch spacers i want to use spacers with a devider and weld them to the manifold as if the manifold came that way. As far as compression want to stay at 11.0 to 1 or a hair higher so i can run pump gas. To be honest i was leaning more to a 210 head but if a 220 works better at this size and rpm so be it. Could care less what the engine can do below 4000.. As far as the cam and only 11 to 1 compression was thinking something 260 on the intake and a small split on the exhaust of 4 degrees..

http://www.hotrod.com/articles/hrdp-091 ... ine-build/

here is your homework reading assignment. He was a master at this stuff.
Read it , Know it , there will be a test.

Never mind what you want ,,, give the motor what IT WANTS.

Next you'll be saying you want air conditioning and heated power seats.

you re making false assumptions about this manifolds potential and getting all wrapped up in flow numbers,,,AND then shooting yourself in the foot re: carb size, cam size and compression ratio to make it do what you want.
GO FAST.

You will need good 100 octane gas to run with a 11:1cr.
if you want it to live... There is more power and rpm by building it with 12:1+++cr (allows you to get the cam right)
Don't waste your money on a 377. build a 406.
the 210 competition ported AFR head would be my choice.
Joe Sherman used to take these a bit further with additional custom porting.

Yup you can try the tunnel ram too.

Well it can be made to work to a certain degree but you just cant compare it to the strait shot of a tunnel ram. Air does not like twists and turns.

I know several people running around on 93 pump gas and just barely over 11 to 1 both big and sbc. Im not seeing how going bigger on carbs to 750 is going to help if the manifold is restrictive id do it in a second if it was a tunnel ram but thats not what this is.

YOur opinions and assumptions will be what holds this back.
And guarantees a short life too.

use 2x750's on it. Yes Chad Speir will take your money gladly.
