High Horsepower build Motown LS,whos done it?

Post by riv187 »

Saw the TV shows build on this motown Ls block with Trick Flow 260 heads. The combination looked like something interesting for my dragster up to they installed the hydraulic roller. With 440 cubes and all that free flowing heads I was hoping to see 800 hp ! Has anyone done a similar build and used a solid roller and went for maximum horsepower for a racing application?

I recently completed a 440 inch ls on 94 pump gas iron lsx block and g.m. lsx heads with some touch ups as they came out of the box.

11.8 to 1 comp
750 lift
270 at .050

But had to use a g.m. lsx intake which I believe was a bit of a govner in this case?

Anyhow.. Made 780 h.p. @6900. And 617 ft lbs. With a single 1150 dom. It has fogger nozzles hanging from the roof of the intake port also impeding flow a little. I would guess a better intake would push it past 8oo hp.

There are LS builds over 1000 HP with 400 inches. First one I knew of was some years ago with Slawko heads
Depends on how much you can spend.
Automotive Machining, cylinder head rebuilding, engine building. Can't seem to quit #-o
