I think all of us are in the same range ... a few degrees here and there .....

Different ways to do it ... camking closing point is right on top of mine with 1.6 rocker making up some of the difference .... ex moved over just a bit .... and my guess the carry over to 6000 is more the carb being a bit undersized for peak HP but it a boat so probably better ..

Guess the real question is vacuum and what is needed on the exhaust side ....

So full exhaust system? Pipe size? Header? Muffler?

You OK with vacuum can or pump?

If you don't mind running a vacuum reserve can, it could help your cam selection. I'm running a 259/261/106 solid roller, and the can lets my brakes work well enough to stop the car from the 120+ trap speed. The manual trans will help keep the vac reservoir active.
So much to do, so little time...

Here is a link to a UK web magazine article on specing camshafts for the SBC and BBC family only. At the bottom of the webpage is a link to download the spec sheets. You will need to provide some personal information to do this. (Name, email address, etc.) Once you do that, you can download the spec sheets. There are a total of 61 camshafts suggested based on category (Street to basic race) and type (SBC/BBC) spread over 10 spec sheets based on lifter and rocker type.
As a warning to those easily offended, The article and sheets are by DV.
I found the sheets interesting.

What a shame. Some of us (me) would be interested in David's results.

Yes, I want to see the results myself. What the BFD? Jones puts his numbers up here, so does Straub and I'm sure others.

Grow up and let DV post. What a crock of shit.

Post your numbers please David. Some of here would like to see them. The rest can either not click on the tread or just STFU and go to yellowbullet so they can bitch and whine.

Oorrrr.. some people could try MUCH HARDER to maintain some level of self control by not feeding into others negativity and disbelief.. and posting even more of the same reataliatory crap?

What's that old saying?.. two wrongs don't make a right?

If DV could just ignore the ribbing more often then more people would probably quit trying to continually get his goat by repetatively doing it on a regular basis. It just adds to their credibility and ego while showing his lack of self control and fragility.. while ultimately shortchanging the one's who may be genuinely interested in the conversation. Not to mention.. THIS IS NOT HIS THREAD TO BEGIN WITH.

Ooorrrr.. short of self control.. Maybe try the friend or foe thing Don has mentioned every single time his threads get locked?
