With 4.10's and a 28" tire the rpm at 60MPH will be just UNDER 3000 rpm at cruise... A tall 70 series street tire will work BEST.
Then a SHORT 26x8.58x15 P235-60-15) sticky street strip tire like a M/T ET street will work great at the track.

This thing is going to be a slug with 3.42's... Will be MUCH better with 4.10's or 4.30's RPM with a 28" tire and 4.30's is gust UNDER 3200rpm at 60 MPH cruise.
This is very reasonable. And allows the engine to move the 3800LBS.
A 29" tall street tire works even better with the 4.30's
P255/70R-15 With 4.30's and traction bars... It will hook too.
Cruise rpm at 60MPH will be 3000 rpm on the nose.

You would get pulled over for impeding traffic at 60mph here

The 3.42 is a good choice of gear for a street car.

A friend had a 78 Chevy C10 truck, short/wide about 4000lbs. 468 BBC, 8-71 blower, 2 x 4bbl, TH400, 3.08 gears, tall tires. Ran low 10’s, 130’s crossing the line in 2nd gear about 7300 RPM. A real slug that truck was...

Yes, but that'd be a very fun slug to drive . :D

Shows the profound effect of SUPERCHARGED 468 BBC.
This is not a supercharged BBC.
Poor argument .

You see, that was just an anecdote about different ways of doing things.

In the real world, a 10 second street vehicle is terrifyingly fast. Actually a 13 second car is quick, a 12 second car is fast and an 11 second car will scare the crap out of most people.

A sensibly built 400+ HP street machine with mid 3’s gears and no overdrive works out very well. 4.10 gears with overdrive also works well.

But this is the internet were everyone has 9 second cars and spews fantasy advice. Carry on...
