Head gasket

Post by Tperformance »

I am building a 441 ford small block with a 98 mm turbo . Trick flow 57 cc heads and 10.1 compression and I don't won't to fire ring the block or heads ! The piston deck hight is .003 and I need a .050 or .060 head gasket to make the compression wright . I like to use a MLS gaskit with a reinforced fire ring instead of a full copper gaskit ! The boosted it going to be around 35 to 38 pounds . The cylinder bore is 4.125 dart iron eagle block ! Any sogestions on a head gaskits out there ??

With some 625 head bolts and an MLS gasket, you better be on tune. What fuel you are running can be detrimental.

Good luck. I'd suggest buying race grade e85 for your application.

Race Grade or not, your tune will have to be SPOT on. I have seen a lot of gasket failures in this area, switch to q16, engine picks up power and makes more power on the same boost, no more gasket problem.

You really need to be careful tuning on e85, or 98 pulling extra timing or running fat is not safe. If your tuner tells you that, run.

But correct the best bolts you can buy may help a bit. As far as if you ,lift the head, prepare to get the tig welder out. O-ring is my advice. Or block of water through the deck.
