Ive got two older d500 blocks and was wondering about adaquate drain back in the valley. One has 8 1/4 inch pipe holes and the other has 4 7/16ths smooth bore holes. Both have the 3/4 inch hole next to distributor hole in back. I noticed the brodix bbc blocks have large rectangle slots like the oem steel blocks for drain back. Is there a need to address this any further in the valley area for drain back in a drag race wet sump application?

Just give Donovan a call they have more experience and feedback on their blocks than anybody.

I would think that would be plenty for grain back if that's not enough I'd say you got way too much oil going to the top
