Was an interesting read. Also found it interesting that I've not had to deal with the dreaded ring flutter issues some have seen with the older style gapless 2nd ring designs. I do know a piston with an accumulator groove gives a bit more latitude to help avoid it as well. Was a long time ago though, so probably just never made enough cylinder pressures at high enough rpm to really see it I guess.
