Also the Edelbrock/Magnuson / Eaton MP122HH lil blower is a lot more powerfull than a B&M.
Edelbrock has re introduced these again, recently.
It is a better lil blower for you in every way. 600HP maxed capable.

There is no reason this motor cannot live long and go fast as long as detonation is avoided.
Again the high compression ratio will require high octane fuel or water meth injection.
If you want it to run on pump gas slide in 8 dished pistons.
A 22 to 26cc dish volume is just right.
That Crower cam is good enough to get you started. Ya you can get a lot more serious there.
Crower cam #00322 is a example.

Use a BIG carb or 2 carbs (ya you read that right)

Supercharging is not that hard on a motor but DETONATION is.

We would have to run methanol since we run it in our other stuff.
The rods in this were a good price almost 20yrs ago and couldn't pass up when this engine was first put together. At the time it was just for a fun pro street car.
The 60 over cylinders do worry me. A 177 would be sweet, what kind of power would it make, maybe 600=650?

Firebirdd88, When you say big carb or 2 what size?

Yes especially on methanol . With lots of boost (higher blower drive ratios..

For max power use a dominator methanol carb or 2x 750
methanol carbs.

Blowers love big carb cfm capacity.

To up the boost for 600++ hp make the BOTTOM blower pully BIGGEer. Instead of the top pulley smaller...
Much better belt traction that way...

With methanol the 10:1 cr is just right.

Use a fair big solid lifter cam for max power
256 to 265 @.050" 112 to 114 LSA
Crane has off the shelf solid cams just for this
that will rock..

On Methanol I can see you hitting and exceeding 650+ hp

Let it eat (carb(s), cam, etc...
set it up for 550-575 hp output and it will outlive the car......

On this episode of Engine Masters presented by Amsoil, find out if you can stuff 25 psi of boost into a cast-piston, stock-crank short-block and have it live! Watch as we strap a ProCharger centrifugal supercharger to a bone-stock Chevy 350 bottom end... 763 hp.

High boost on the 177 blower:

There is a 8" crank pulley 10 rib that only needs a pulley spacer and correct bolts to use on the 177.

it is a Paxton service part. any machine shop can make up the pulley spacer...

8"÷ 3.48 = 2.29:1
8" ÷ 3.25 = 2.46:1 ******
8" ÷ 3.05 = 2.62:1

season to taste enjoy
