I have what is supposed to be a 2007 LS6 LQ4 block. I have a honing plate which I relieved the bolt holes to the same heights has they would be at in the head. All the M11 bolts are the same length, about a 4" shank, 4-3/8" overall. These are apparently shorter than most LS head bolts. I asked an LS supplier about these bots, and they said they had not run into them before, only the longer maybe 6" bolts.
Block #12576184
Torque specs seem to generally be 22 lbs, then 90 degrees. Then if the bolts are medium length, another 70 degrees for 2004 and later blocks.
Is this the right torque spec for the 4" shank head bolts?
Thanks

Re: LS6 LQ4 Head Torque
The early blocks with 6" bolts are called gen3 (III) blocks. The later blocks with 4" bolts are called gen 4 (IV).
Your torque numbers are correct but rember when u use a set of stock head bolts they are TTY bolts.
You throw them away and start with new ones when starting the final assembly. We find a much better solution
By using ARP 134-3610 and they can be used for ever lol.
The ARP cost more initially but are a better value in the end.
