A rotor dynamics guy would run screaming in fear if he heard that a damper is not tight. Bolts and keys do not do it. Interesting that a Pontiac was not tight from the factory; and clearly it worked.

My old junk301's crank snout was worn so I just took a sharp, "pointed", center punch and carefully peened divot's(Sp?) all around it to tighten it up!
Worked OK, but isn't the best way to do this for a more permanent fix.

Just a update: Trying some loctite 680, see if noise goes away. I will call Romac on Monday morning. Thx for everyone’s help.

Just remember you'll likely need to use the gas wrench if you ever want to get it apart again...

When you have a 15/16" headed bolt torqued to 160 lb keeping the balancer pinned up to the flat on the Crank face you don't need a press fit!!!!
