Re: Race tek pistons
RaceTec Pistons are very good quality. Wayne Brooks and Barry Calvert owned JE Pistons for several years and they actually bought the company from Harvey Crane, Jr. Barry Calvert now owns CP-CARRILLO. Barry also worked for Nick Arias, Jr at one time and I believe that Wayne worked at Arias at one time too. Now CP-CARRILLO owns Arias Pistons . . . . . . . .Walter R. I have never used them and was looking for other options and see they have the same zip code??
Just asking as I have heard good things about racetec quality and customer service.

Thanks Dave, I stand corrected. It's hard to keep up with all you piston guys (piston folks, not PistonGuy), where you have been and where you are going . . . . . . .

It's difficult for me also to keep up Bill. The latest movements that I'm aware of are that Ed Urcis left CP and went to Diamond. And CP bought Arias. Other than that I don't concern myself with the others but I certainly don't wish them any ill will either. I do think about the workers and their families and that they are well taken care of. The old days were unhealthy to say the least.

I think about some of the stuff we made 40 years ago and feel kinda guilty.......

Re: Race tek pistons
I've used a fair amount of Racetec stuff over the years. Never an issue with the product, good pistons, but recent service problems has forced me to split my volume between them and Mahle. Always liked the Mahle stuff anyway so it's not a big deal.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I mean, there are plenty of good piston companies and Mark hasn’t been in business for a few years now. I can’t say I’ve seen him complain about it either.

Re: Race tek pistons
I use mine...and Ross, and CP, and JE, and Wiseco, and Diamond, and Racetec. Whichever one works with the application and fits the customers budget is fine with me.
All of them have things I like, all of them have things I don't. All of them keep the rings from falling into the oil pan.
Racetec is a good part for a good price. What more can you ask for?
Having said that Tim at Racetec still has a set of Probe's in his SB Ford......

I don't have time to complain. Mostly because I'm still in business....hoffman900 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 23, 2018 6:17 pmI mean, there are plenty of good piston companies and Mark hasn’t been in business for a few years now. I can’t say I’ve seen him complain about it either.
But no, I certainly don't miss babysitting 30 people every day.
