That's killer. I did not even know oil weights that extreme existed. That definitely makes sense and answers to the application.

My aprilia specifies it.
I'm skeptical about the vi modifiers sheering in an oil like that, but I'm no expert and I have no first hand data

Yes sheer-back was my thought exactly. The amount of polymers or viscosity stabilizers required even if stable as far as maintaining viscosity would still be displacing the parts of the oil that control film strength, lubricity, antifoaming, etc. But I am not an oil engineer either. So I hope it's really good. If it is I certainly welcome it.englertracing wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2018 1:45 amThe euros are all over that 10/60,induction apprentice wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 11:51 pm That's killer. I think that would be the engineered molecules of a full synthetic formulation, much less susceptible to heat-induced deterioration than conventional with VI modifiers.

Re: effect of engine component temps and heat soak discussion
so for my understanding. Polymers and or VI improvers are used only in mineral based conventional oil formulations and ester based and hydrocarbon based synthetics have viscosity control through chemical design rather than a added improver?

I think that one is a 2" plug but regardless, I am sure they make a 1 5/8" for SBC. Has anyone here used these in a circle track environment? Is there a "trick" to keeping the plug from being pushed out?pamotorman wrote: ↑Fri Jan 26, 2018 9:11 pm one of these in each side of the block will heat up the coolant https://www.ebay.com/i/152707379853?chn=ps
Thanks
Heat is energy, energy is horsepower...but you gotta control the heat.
