torque specs for main bearing caps on sbc

friend is putting new rings and bearings on his 383 SBC . its a stock gmc truck block block with 4 bott mains and ARP studs for main caps. could someone please tell me the torque specs for the main bearing caps with the ARP studs thanks art

It I read this correctly you are using ARP studs in place of the stock bolts in a sm blk chevy.
The stock bolt torque is 70lbs for the long and 65lbs for the short bolts.

Now did you read the torque instructions that came with the stud kit found under the package of ARP ultra lube???
If not it is 70 Ft=lbs on all the studs both inner and outer!
Don't be afraid to put lube on both the threads and the bottom of the nuts where they contact the caps.There is not such thing as too much.

"PRELOAD (TORQUE) RECOMMENDATIONS
6. Following the manufacturers recommended torque sequence tighten the nuts in three equal steps to 80 ft lbs
with ARP ULTRA-TORQUE FASTENER ASSEMBLY LUBRICANT."

I also always torque the arp studs to 80 ft/lbs.

Have you verified roundness/line honed with the studs? Many people get away with putting in studs with no work, but the clamping load does change and its best to check.
