Ring groove spacers

I found the spacers I needed to fit a 3 3/4" bore Seagrave v-12 @ Wiseco. A user friendly phone call, reasonable, and they got them to me promptly. Years ago they would have been readily available from Perfect Circle. In many places they would have been called GI inserts and were many times used in re-ring jobs to repair top ring groove excessive clearance and to space the top ring down from the ridge in the cylinder caused by the previously used top ring.

For True. I've got a Perfect Circle kit, with the hand-driven tool to square up the worn grooves to accept the spacer rings.

That's some old school tech right there. We had a similar kit back in my 1960's high school auto shop class.
