Are the fitment issues any better with the 300-110?

If you need a .842" lifter with offset pushrod seats on the intakes, that's our part# XLR-8R02
For on-center pushrod seats, that's part# XLR-8R01
Mr. Jones, thank you for taking the time, and thank you for your suggestion.

272/280 on 110 centres, .440/.420" lobes or thereabouts.
Actual cam guys will probably have a better recommendation, but that's my WAG.
Mr. Knight; Thank you for your cam recommendation and for the manifold suggestion !

Sodbuster wrote: Thu Dec 28, 2017 4:57 pm We are getting ready to start work on a new engine combination our Bracket Car. GM, G-Body, 3000 lbs, stock type suspension, Power-glide with a 5200 rpm stall converter, 9" slicks, 4:56 gears. With the old 421 SBC the best run was 10.42 @ 127 with 1.44, 60' time.

The new engine will be a 4.125 bore X 3.625 stroke SBC. Bowtie block. Profiler 176X CNC 23 degree heads with 2.125 intake valves that are advertised to flow 325/213 @ .600 lift. Scorpion 1.6 rockers with a Jomar stud girdles. Team G intake with an APD 950 cfm carb. We haven't ordered pistons yet, but will be looking for a domed piston with around 14.1 compression.

We are not wanting to build a high RPM monster, hoping to stay under 7800. What would be your recommendation for a S/R Cam and lifters.

Thank you-all in advance. Any advise will be greatly appreciated !!!
What is the MCSA of that head? It's got some valve area so the rpm won't be and issue. I agree intake manifold may need to be changed. You need to verify rocker ration on those rockers. Your going to need around 975 cfm of carb for 7800. You may want to look at a worked 4150 or possibly a dominator.
Mr. Straub; Thank you for your comment. I am sorry but you will need to explain MCSA to me.

Minimum Cross Sectional Area. The "pinch point" in the intake runner. This number along will the flow numbers will tell us where the head falls in performance potential.
Ok thanks. I will research and try to find an answer.

300-110 or 300-25 with some work done will be a noticeable improvement
have a Team G with lots of work done still dont think it would be enough for what youre doing
Intakes are cheap.

Thanks for the suggestion. I know enough to know that I don't know sick-um about and flow and porting. I would do more harm than good with a grinder. How much difference from an out of the box intake compared to a ported one. Edelbrock sells a ported Super Victor (2825) are they worth the $730 price tag. Thanks again for the help !!!

Nice thing about parts like intake manifolds is they don't wear out to often and usually can be had second hand for a bargain. Take your time and look around for a good intake already well ported to meet your improving needs.
