I love that guy who runs off with the Intake Manifold like stole a Millon bucks, what up with that when everyone else seem to just tossing parts to the side?

is there anything that doesn't get removed? Other than looking at them cam bearings maybe?

Just watched the whole thing.....made me wonder if the crew thinks "damn, they beat us" every time a fuel car warmed up while they were still tearing the thing apart?

That's typical, at least from what I've seen and been told by a friend who's crewed on TF and FC teams
BTW, the ball hone was after the pulled the sleeves out. Cleaning the sleeve bores. Fresh clean sleeves are installed.

I just checked with my bud about it.
His team would ball hone sleeves in the block and wash with brake clean. He was the bottom guy. Said he got stepped on, nitro all over him, hot oil and threw away a Walmart t shirt between rounds. He said the new guy washes parts. Lower end guy is known as a diver and is just as important as the guy washing parts. Engine runs a max of 5 minutes between rebuilds, so no need for precision. They torque the heads from the outside in. It takes 35 minutes for what they call a "turn around".

Take another look Keith. The front two sleeves were replaced the back two were dingle balled.
Don't have to worry about too much cleanliness if the engine comes back apart after a few seconds of run time...

If one of those sealed properly, you could reduce the fuel pump volume a ton..
I once talked to one if the top fuel crew cheifs for a good bit at a party a few years back. I asked about fixing the sealing issue they have, and he said they can't make any coarse changes regardless of the potential benefit, as the small changes they make already throw them into a big learning curve sometimes.
