If oil pressure is fed into a data logger and plotted against engine rpm, we can see the shape of the pressure curve and compare it to peak torque rpm.

If high load is applied before oil pressure is adequate we have levied a death sentence on the bearings.

At what rpm point does aeration occur?
The oil pressure sender on my engine died and is NLA.....which forced me to do the right thing and swap in a pressure transducer connected to the ecu that then outputs a pwm signal to control the gauge, logs the data and now that you mention it I'll also set it to limit allowed load based on oil pressure (it's DBW so i can just set it to close the throttle) ....i don't know how I lived without an ECU I can program as I please :)
