Keyway lifters, bronze bushings and your thoughts?

Post by PackardV8 »

Jesel says:
Jesel Keyway lifter bodies are fitted with a keyway pin that rides in an index slot milled in a bronze lifter bushing.
Since the Jesel .937" is already oversize and some OEM blocks are not thick in the lifter bore area, it might seem beneficial to leave as much iron in there as possible. Is there an inherent material mismatch which would preclude the keyway successfully running and living in the iron block lifter bore?

Jack, do you have the equupment to machine the indexed slots in the block?
I even have a hard time finding someone to machine holes for the inserts over here.

Bronze are different to steel, but the lifters might do ok riding on steel- however - have never heard of anyone who’s tried...
