Defining a "street car" is almost as impossible as proving the (non?)existence of an All Powerful Deity: Your opinion; my opinion; the rest of the world's opinion(s). NFW...

This is as useful thread as the usual torque vs horsepower thread, but much more interesting!

if its intended primary use will be to compete in sanctioned events then it's a race car.

If it's intended primary use will be to drive on the street then it is a street car.

8;70 at 157...Oldhead here...My 1980 Malibu street car has been driven over 20,000 miles, It is Legal inspection in PA. I have driven in the rain and snow. On pump gas has gone 10:70 at 126 with very quiet mufflers,Just the way I drive it even on long trips. The wipers are fine at 150 mph. I never get stopped even when I drive up to police at traffic lights,Sorry I don't know how to put pictures on here, but check my posts on Yellow Bullet . :D :D :D :D Oldhead

Its all subjective in whats acceptable. I prefer cars with all the stuff working, track capable car with tags, good enough.

Good topic up for discussion especially for those that grudge race here in the mid-west.
1. Lights, wipers, and alternator.
2. Full exhaust no bullet mufflers
3. Registered, license plates and insured
4. Can idle in traffic without overheating
5. Can drive to the track and back without breaking
6. Full interior
7. Stock suspension mini tub allowed
8. 28x10.5 or 275 tires

Hey there are some people out there that believe that if they can register a promod car it would be considered a street car.

That depends on the wife more than the car. Maybe we should start a new thread on race wife vs street wife vs passenger wife...
