What does the raised areas of this plenum do to help with the air flow to the combustion chamber.

1972HO It's kinda hard to tell the trees from the woods--------is it highest on the centerline front to back and sloping downhill constantly and or on a straight plane on the runner floors ?? Mark H.

I have seen intakes done something like that on circle track engines using methanol to keep the some cylinders from running rich from the G forces in the turns.

Ask Wilson Manifolds, since it appears to be their work.

I suspect it has nothing to do with airflow, but is supposed to improve fuel distribution and/or reduce unatomized fuel that collects on the plenum floor from flowing into the runners.

I would think it is to store liquid fuel till it evaps back into the airstream.

How would it "evaporate" back into the airstream?

Warp you could correct me. But I would think high velocity air moving across liquid fuel would cause a low pressure above the liquid fuel and fuel would evap easier with that lower pressure.

I would replace evaporate with, to "pick up" or "reintroduce"...but yeah to prevent wet fuel from running down the floor of the runner.
