18 Deg. SBC head flow numbers
I would like to know if anybody on this forum knows what the 18 Deg. heads from yesteryear used in the NASCAR classes, Cup and then Busch flowed??

If you have the info from the heads like model#s valve sizes and port volumes, even who ported them check out Stan's site. It will give you a good idea what the pros get out of them.

I freshened up a 355 this summer with Edelbrock 18 from Chapman. Came from truck series on 350. Flowed 334 with intake on it. only had 23o ports with 40 cc combustion chambers. Bad responsive off the turn when matched up with cam.

Thanks to all who responded, i appreciate it !! . Cuisinartvette ------before the SB-2 era-----the 18 Degree heads were produced and raced before the SB-2 head came along. But perhaps i don't understand what you meant in your question ????

My Brodix 18C heads cnc ported flow 380cfm in .800 lift 255 cfm Exh 800 lift
2.18 and 1.625 valves

As an aside, what were typically cam profiles of a 18* NASCAR engine. Looking for era specific numbers. We have covered the ‘80s stuff before and obviously the SB2-R07 era, but this era is a bit of a mystery to me and it’s when the spending really started ratcheting up.

These #'s for a "363" chevy head were given to me in 2012 at 28" intake at .800 - 341.2 and exhaust at .800 - 245.2 Not sure if these help you. 2.250" intake valve,1.625" exhaust valve.

Not to be a smart ass, but that wasn't the question. I have ported Trick Flow 18 degree heads to flow a tick over 400 with a 2.20 intake valve. The question was, what were the Nascar 18 degree heads flowz. Which, were in the 350-360 range. Warpspeed may be able to answer the question the best. Man, 20 years ago was a long time, and I have trouble remembering last week these days! Lol
Flows I remember were in the mid to upper 300s as mentioned. I think the best I remember was 385. I believe that was a Kenny Weld port modified by Madcap. The best Chapman stuff was real close.
Cam timing was around 268/282 on a 106 for Busch, 276/282 on a 106 for Cup. Lift was low to mid .700s.
That was just one team and 20+ years ago so............? LOL

Interesting the big I/E split with the more restricted Bush set up.

I got a set of 18 degree NASCAR Chapman heads 20 or so years ago and a friend of mine was really close with Chapman and since the head where serial numbered he just called him to get the flow numbers and save a trip to the flow bench. Well, Chapman couldn't give out the flow number as he had all the info but since they were done for Hendricks (IIRC) they were still considered proprietary so he couldn't give them too me and told us to just flow them. Again going off memory here, but I recall around a 350ish intake flow.
I do remember the brodix weldtech 18 degree CNC program around that time was the typical 334 flow number on the intake which was commonly used in many late models at that time (1997ish)
