Will a 3.75 stroke fit without a lot of grief using aluminum rods ( in this case GRP ) and .900 base cam. ( .750 .720 on a variety of lobe centers ) in a STD. cam location block?

Maybe or maybe not.
You will have to check every thing for fit regardless and that is where you will find out if you have any clearance issues.
This is a mistake most guys that do not do this all day every day discover the hard way. And it's when they think they are ready for final assembly
Best advise is to test fit all the parts 1st before doing anything else.

Yes , I understand that.......however , when you consider the expense and commit to buying a good crank you are stuck with it.
I'd like to hear from guys who HAVE done this.

we had to grind the pan rails on a few cylinders on one with 3.75 and steel rods, the rear throws were the worst if i remember correct but most of the others were barely hitting. Cant speak to the cam/rod clearance maybe someone else will chime in.
