Your comment:-
Finding someone that can build a motor that can't run is not all that hard to do..... :P :P

The definition of a motor is, I believe, something that can run. What I built here would be better described as a ring processing fixture.

It can mean that. It can also mean giving, imparting, or producing motion or action.

I'll explain the emojees later.

Yes, as in "motoring" an engine with an electric dyno to measure friction.

This seems high. Are you using a thick ring pack?

The 383's I've done measure about 10 lbs-ft

1/16 -1/16 - 3/16 with finish as per ring manufacturers and it's about what you are getting done my way for a street build. My cup car motor turned at about 6 lbs-ft but it gets difficult to be precise here as I don't have a torque wrench that would read accurately at this low figure.

This has me thinking about a fixture to "precondition" toilet paper.

this would be important on a NASCAR restricted engine where every 1/2 HP counts but would it show up on a street driven engine ?? the auto factories do it to get 0.1 of a MPG on the govt. tests

Same reason someone would run rings that were "pre lapped" to a different cylinder than they were to be used in.
