Melling billet oil pumps
Has anyone here have experience with Mellings billet sbc oil pumps? Part number 10050-825
Re: Melling billet oil pumps
Get the billet sharktooth version 10050ST-825SS if you do or just a reg CI sharktooth pump. A note on the billet I read was that any hard metal debris can score the alum housing. Also some boats that have an issue with pumps breaking off due to waves or w/e switch to the alum pumps.

I know as much as I can learn and try to keep an open mind to anything!
If I didn't overthink stuff I wouldn't be on speedtalk!

Other than the high tech looks, what's the advantage of a billet oil pump? Just weight?
Re: Melling billet oil pumps
Weight is one. I bought it for the location of the pickup, and a couple other reasons. I just wondered if anyone has run one and how they like it....roc wrote:Other than the high tech looks, what's the advantage of a billet oil pump? Just weight?
Re: Melling billet oil pumps
Weight is prob the least reason I'd use one, like I said earlier no risk of housing neck crackling n the pump breaking off. The pick-up design is their claim of hp gain with these pumps, before the sharktooth.
