valve weigh
I run a stock elm mopar 413 I want to know is it worth it to have a hollow stem maid it be 13 grams lighter motor runs 7300 rpm seat press is 230 open is 490 behive spring thanks
Re: valve weigh
Probably cheaper, better, stronger: 413s use 3/8" valve stems. Buy some 11/32"or 8mm stemmed valves & have new guides fitted.

Re: valve weigh
Will the rules allow you to drop down to 11/32 stems, if so pull the heads and fly with that!

Re: valve weigh
This is a stock eliminator where rules say he has to run a 3/8 valve. I know him and his is using a lofting cam I think somewhere around .500 lift
Re: valve weigh
I "think" you can save more weight than 13 grams going to a hollow stem. Might be worth checking with some different suppliers?
Re: valve weigh
You bet it is! Not only lighter then you can get the shape exactly as you want it. I can tell you from experience, if your capable always develop your own heads in stock, you can pay people to do this, but you have to ask yourself, are they really going to spend the time you will to get a killer piece?
Racing a NA NHRA stocker should be mandatory before any posting.
