The way the lifter is assembled I don't know how you would take them apart.

True, I hadn't really considered that.

You simply remove just the spring and machine spacers to depress the piston almost fully and re-insert the spring.

Yes but how do you do that with the Morel lifter where the insides won't fit past the swedged end of the pin that holds the pair of lifters together?

Yeah Im familiar with what it take to travel limit them with spacers, was just inquiring if anyone has or does spacers for this particular lifter. I've had quite a few O.E lifters apart, but wasn't aware of what obstacles may be involved with these.

You are only taking the clip out and inserting about a .150" spacer to depress all the insides and reinserting the clip.
I have done this myself several times.
NOW, the pushrod will also need to be longer.

Can the spacer go under the plunger so you don't need to modify the pushrod length?

But you can't get the plunger past the rivet that holds the tie bar.

I'm asking about a factory style lifter...no tie bar to worry about.
