It's a different cam than whats optimum for the single plane.

Starting with a 5.5 to 6" carb pad height allows room for larger/taller dual plane runners
on a sbc. Yup it won't fit under a stock hood.

Unfortunately the right left side cylinder bank offset of a BBC is opposite that of a SBC
So it's runner spider cannot be a donor.[/quot


I like the LOOK's of McFarlands, "Torque-Link", double horse-shoe runner intake, but the guys say that it doesn't produce like one would think it should. It's tall enough IF it will fit under a hood??

The tork-Link intake certainly is interesting. How about a modified torklink manifold 2 Qjets rear end to end but mounted sideways above the plenum. Open up the carb pad plenum as the casting allows to blend into the the 2 Qjet adapter. Everybody has 2 QJets hanging around.
IMHO this sideways mounted 2 Qjet configuration has good potential on any popular single 4 bbl intake (dual plane or single plane)

Very interesting adaptor for (2) Q-Jets!

Is the 1,000 cfm MOPAR Thermo-Quad carb worth hunting up and playing with? Or just stick with the 750/800 cfm Q-Jet carbs?

The thermoquads may certainly have their potential.
You might notice the qjet plate has had the rear carb mounting bolts area cut off each carb mountibg flange.
To allow moving the 2 qjets closer together.
A single pair of center hold down bolts would hold
down the back of each carb, like a distributor hold down
bolt works.

Does anyone know of an adapter plate to mount two holley 750's sideways on a small block chevy dual quad air gap? A few years back I started running E85 fuel with dual 500 edelbrocks, then switched to edelbrock 750's. Now I want to try holleys. This is for a 408 sbc with 11.7-1 comp.

2 holleys turned sideways is not going to work on a dual plane manifold.

Wonder if they make an adapter for 4 edelbrock's on a dual plane intake? I bet that would be awesome.

You'd need 3 BDS dual carb to single flange carb adapters.
(6 pieces to buy). creates a H pattern. If you just got to.
$$$$

You'd probabily enjoy 4 2 Bbl c carbs in that array more.

If you wanted to mount 2 holleys 4150 carbs on a eddy dual quad intake you'd need a adapter that allows for more spacer
between the carb flanges. I have seen such a adapter
(custom made).. (unless you use the smaller fuel bowls and sec metering plates like on a #1850) The rear diz on a chevvy requires a forward shifted location of the 2 carbs to clear the rear carb fuel bowl.
a forward offset adapter.
