OEM Block Cleaning techniques
Does any one know how the OE's clean their blocks before assembly ? Thought someone on here knows, or knows someone who worked in the factory and saw the process firsthand.... Thanks

The cleaning system I've seen (major diesel OEM) was a purpose built, conveyer feed, high pressure, high volume, aqueous solution, with drying, cleaning machine.
Automotive Machining, cylinder head rebuilding, engine building. Can't seem to quit

I would bet that is the same for both gas or diesel to take the hands off approach to stop chemical ingestion to the workers.Keith Morganstein wrote:The cleaning system I've seen (major diesel OEM) was a purpose built, conveyer feed, high pressure, high volume, aqueous solution, with drying, cleaning machine.

And mainly a super-filtered liquid, not to push particles in the oil galleries...Keith Morganstein wrote:The cleaning system I've seen (major diesel OEM) was a purpose built, conveyer feed, high pressure, high volume, aqueous solution, with drying, cleaning machine.
What do people use on this forum to clean them?
