Lunati released custom cam profiles from retired racers
This is kind of weird; I mean I get the marketing behind it, but in theory, these things could be from 1985 LOL

Looks to me like these cams are to close to one another to be from different racerS. Maybe from A former racer.autogear wrote:This is kind of weird; I mean I get the marketing behind it, but in theory, these things could be from 1985 LOL

Well if you want an old school Chevy dirt car I guess it's your day! Now what about a "Classic" secret hyd. roller grind for hot street 80'-90' Mustang?

^^^^^Which would be a good question for Mike. Do certain race teams get different better cams than the average guy? Say a small fish wants to try and run with the big boys, and, you do cams for the big boys, does the little guy get the same cam? Just curious. I am guessing no. The reason the big boys are faster usually, isn't just from the cam, but about 40 other reasons.

Above, I meant, yes, as in, they get the same cam.
Re: Lunati released custom cam profiles from retired racers
absolutely, as there are those who absolutely refuse to get out of the past. for that reason i have no doubt lunati will sell a bunch of these, no matter how ancient the technology.Keith Morganstein wrote:I bet PDQ and a few others are chomping at the bit to get theseCamKing wrote:"Camshafts here.........................Get you old, no longer competitive, camshafts here"

I am only going to say that, "I wonder how many of them that UDHarold did for Lunati through the years"?Keith Morganstein wrote:I bet PDQ and a few others are chomping at the bit to get theseCamKing wrote:"Camshafts here.........................Get you old, no longer competitive, camshafts here"
And some here might go over to Team Chevelle and ask some of the BBC guys how the old Ultrdyne cams do to this day.

Gotta agree, some of UD Harolds last lobes he designed are still better than todays current high dollar custom grinds, IMO.
I'll put my money where my mouth is.

Who has those last lobes he was designing? Was he still with Custom Cam Company?

You are making my point! UD Harold never rested on his past cam designs. He was continually designing new lobes to improve! He hasn't been gone that long (RIP) so his most recent designs are still "cutting edge"pdq67 wrote:I am only going to say that, "I wonder how many of them that UDHarold did for Lunati through the years"?Keith Morganstein wrote:I bet PDQ and a few others are chomping at the bit to get theseCamKing wrote:"Camshafts here.........................Get you old, no longer competitive, camshafts here"

At one point I seem to remember some of his designs had been acquired by Howards or Erson. Maybe someone more knowledgeable than I can chime in.tt 383 wrote:Who has those last lobes he was designing? Was he still with Custom Cam Company?
Camking...I'll take 2, if you throw in a Louis tool for my '0' stamped rocker arms.
