An original aluminum high rise will fit just fine. It is actually a pretty fair intake. Just use the drop base air cleaner as mentioned.

sorry, what i should have said is there not many choices for a shelf piston to compare with a 427 or 454. i really did not want to imply anyones piston is not a Good one. the budget would not allow for a custom piston anyway. i am sure the pistons you designed for them are as good as a piston can get. Again sorry

I was just trying to help in case you weren't aware. Certainly no offense taken. Btw, The 68 Camaro with BBC must be very close to the Chevelles because everything F-Bird said applied to my Camaro. I have the Chev drop base Air cleaner and an Eddy Victor jr and there is no room for a spacer, in fact I had to use a solid left side motor mount. good luck

The Big Block Chevy Edelbrock Vic Jr. intake is a good bit taller (5.90") than the BBC Performer RPM
and it also lacks a angled carb pad. This makes the air cleaner much taller at the front
where it matters most.
Do not compare to the BBC RPM or RPM AIR GAP intake.
