Maybe Big Joe 1 will know?

How do they compare?

Paul, there were 2 different c4b designs. One I like one I don't. The big Holley is better than both.

Any Air Gap is superior by every standard with exception you need that extra 3/4" hood clearance

GVX, where did you get this info? I know the airgap is a newer design only 25 years old vs. 50 but I have never seen a direct comparison. I think the Holley is a solid design. I hate the notched plenum divider on airgap. The Holley has a slight dip in the plenum divider I never liked.

There is VERY LITTLE DIFFERANCE between dual plane intake manifolds- NOT EVEN ten HP

The Holley 36 is the exact same design as the Z28/ LT1 Chevrolet intake manifold with very slightly larger runners and a squared-off carb pad, plenum entry.

Seems like this is the conclusion everytime this comes up (and I believe Joe). Makes me feel better about running my GMPP "performer" style manifold on my vortec heads, since no one makes a spreadbore RPM-style hi-rise for Vortecs.

Charlie,

I didn't know there were two C4B intakes out there.

What's the difference between them?

Can you post a couple of pictures showing their differences?

I think modern intakes are better even if the runner is smaller, they are just more efficient. I'd choose the Holley because it's looks to be more modern design.

top one Is the later design just before they came out with the performer. I have never owned one. I hate the shape of the runners and notched plenum. Bottom I like but only with the oval opening carb pad. This manifold I have used and I made an oval notch in the divider. The divider with a notch evened up some flows on different runners. Ran quite well.

Carnut1, those are C3BX. The C4B had a 4 hole carb pad. I tried all those old Edelbrock and GM dual planes back in the 70s because the "stock" class I was running required a stock type intake. The best one I ever ran was the GM 350 LT1, but like Big Joe said it was very little difference in the whole bunch.

As far as I know and has been said, these manifolds shown are C3B and C3BX manifolds ... all the C4B's are the same with 4 holes in the carb pad..
