Quick question for you guys. I have a suzuki h25 v6 it it needs a crank. I have a good crank from a h27 the only difference is the 2.7 has a 4mm bigger bore. I am wondering if this will create an imbalance because of the heavier pistons? The rods are the same. This is a stock engine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Suzuki crankshaft
Can you just rebalance the assembly (weld up factory holes in crank etc.)? Also, do you know the weights of both pistons?
Re: Suzuki crankshaft
going from the larger heavier piston to a smaller lighter one is easier than going the other way
Re: Suzuki crankshaft
Actually i would be going to a lighter piston. If it needs to be rebalanced i will get a 2.5 crank turned. I dont know the weight of the pistons but i can weigh them Monday.
Re: Suzuki crankshaft
Its been difficult to find someone to machine these cranks they always want to machine them way too small. They are supposed to have .0015 to .002 on the mains. Its been hard getting someone to machine the with that tight of clearance.
Re: Suzuki crankshaft
Can't understand, as that's not tight; those are pretty standard main clearances, even on much larger engines.mdc689 wrote:Its been difficult to find someone to machine these cranks they always want to machine them way too small. You might try contacting Falicon Crankshaft in Florida. They specialize in motorcycle cranks.
