Track Boss Cleveland block.....
The final hours...Some may not want to watch, nows the time to leave the room.
Now....tell me we're not serious about quality control. I hate to know how much $$$ is in this first block.
Sliced up for your inspection. We know this first sample casting had core shift. Nice to see what else is inside.
Fyi..those cylinders are bored to a 4.250" diameter.
Watch the video of the saw in action.

Looks like the foundry needs to 'shake' those blocks a bit more to get the core sand out.... but the block looks good!

is that oil galley really that close to the water
Re: Track Boss Cleveland block...Sliced like pizza!!
Yes oil feed is off. If you read Tims opening comments he did say this first block had core shift. It was used as a test block and the casting mold was reconfigured on third pour. It was primarily used to set up cnc machine.

Good eye..
But
Technically...
the oil galley is in the correct position,
the water jacket core had shifted towards the oil galley.
You can see the difference in the cylinder wall thickness that also reflects that.
