50/55 mm tool steel camshaft

Post by 1972ho »

I have a question about a camshaft that has 50/55 mm journals for a small block ford.Do you all know if it's possible to have the journals ground down to fit a Cleveland camshaft tunnel and still be usable with the camshaft spec as is the basic spec on this tool steel flat tapper cam are .050 281int 288exh .407int lift .409 exh..Now I know that 50 mm journal will need to be welded before it is ground I just really need to know if the spec on the cam will be usable. Thanks for your time??

Check the nose height of the lobes and see. They will have to be able to fit through the 4th cam bearing back.

Have you talked with Mike Jones,
He would be the guy to ask.

Well the lobes will fit through the stock Cleveland cam tunnel.
