So you don't like the REV lobe now ?
I need more lift ?

Randy
No I like the Rev lobe, I may just be a lift junky. :D I guess you have to draw the line somewhere was just wondering to myself if that taller lobe may be more dynamically stable that's all.

Why are you looking for horsepower peak so low?

I'll take a peak as high as I can get, but at 420 cube and low port 23* heads, I'm just being realistic within those confines.

FYI, in Central and Southern MO the competitive SS big blocks horsepower peak in mid 7s and higher with OEM iron intakes, Fords generally a little higher than Chevy. Our ProStreet's peak from 8200-8500 with OEM heads and cast aluminum intakes.

I know IAMO allows only OEM blocks in big blocks so that makes the Pro Street a little harder to find that higher peak with big blocks. But I'm thinking to run the small block competitively you'd have to turn the snot out of it.

As for a competitive small block in this class I'd have little advise, we just don't do them down here.

Well I'm not as concerned about it making peak at a given rpm as much as hanging on well past peak good.
The 355 ( Tommy Boy ) peaked at 7300-7400 rpm, but went down the track much higher than that.
New engine will start out with a 9000 rev limit till we sort gears out for it.

If this combo works out well and he wants to keep pullin that class we'll go 14* heads.

I'm doing a big block for a different truck too, different class, so we'll see how it does.

With 427 ci. peak torq. 6000 peak hp 7100. I don't think it was cam's fault it didn't peak higher with the 1720 lobe 1960 lobe.
