What kind of oil were you using, full synthetic ? weight ? do you preheat oil and or prelube before startup ?

There's nothing unusual in the setup ... in fact the oil supply Is less than perfect. The crank pins are cross-drilled. These bearings are from a turbocharged 2.0 liter 4 cylinder making about 600 hp. Journal diameter is 50 mm, 3.48 stroke at 8000 RPM. Oil is 40wt Royal Purple synthetic, preheated to about 160°F, 200°F running, 3-srage dry sump running 65 psi. The coating is Calico CT-1 (0.0005 diametral). Initial clearance was 0.0018/0.0020 with the crank finished at Shaftech. The uncertainty in the clearance dimension is due to the softness of the coating.

It doesn't show well in the photo, but the coating is very thin, almost transparent after 5 years. It works well (the coating) in the a wet sump version of the same engine, but the coating wears faster.
