Re: Plug read
change the valve stem seals with motor together
if it does not slow down then it's rings
if it does it's guides
but then
it could be both
also check your pcv system before you pull the motor

Re: Plug read
I am painting the car now. When I finnish I will changes the valve seals and reseal the rocker studs. Then report back.
Re: Plug read
Had to move the car in the shop. Started and let it run to come up to temp. No smoke on start up or for the first several minutes. As the temp came up, the smoke started. Not too bad, but like a rich idle. I have an oil catch can on the pass. Side valve cover hose. Emptied the can; minimal oil & moisture. Blew through hoses & breather side on driver side, seemed fine...

Re: Plug read
The stem seals were changed according to his posts above. No way that's fuel and the plug is oily in the picture.
Seen this before, how much oil is it using? My suspicion would be cracked rings from lack of end gap.

Re: Plug read
Old post, but I forgot to follow up. I removed and resealed all the intake rocker studs. All were oily. Cleaned, resealed and no more smoke problem. The plugs definitely look better, but still a little fat. I have no transition slot showing and if I reduce the idle feed restrictors more, a lean surge occurs. Timing is locked out and uses full time vacuum advance. Perhaps the Victor jr intake and 1-1/2” welded open spacer contribute to this? Thanks to each who have assisted me on this topic and my other ones. Jim.
Ps. I would post pics of the car if I knew how on this forum.

5. Click on the 'Place inline' box under the FILENAME box.
6. Hope I got that all correct...

Re: Plug read
did you replace sparkplugs after sealing studs, from those pictures i hope not cause all i see is oil contamination, you need to replace spark plugs and get some miles and heat into the cylinder to burn off piston deposits if possible and reinspect spark plugs later
cool ride by the way
