Yes, pins do help the cases from walking. All our blocks have an additional 10, not 6. There is simply not enough material in #2 and #4 saddles to support serious h.p. I don't have an accurate count but I'd guess I've line bored in my CNC at least 75 times, most blocks at least twice so the actual block number is about half that. Add to that total the blocks I've done in my traditional line boring machine and it's well over 100. We've milled as much as .015" of each half, they still bolt up, just have to keep milling the pistons. This is why I see a need for a steel insert in the center mains.
