I have been told stainless valves are to heavy and if you are going to change them go straight to titanium ?

I am far from an Ls pro, but aftermarket SS valves are not too heavy. What springs?

Yes, decent stainless valves will be as light or lighter, but cheapo valves could well be heavier - stock LS1 valves are quite light.

FWIW, I have ran stock valves with .600" lift cams and ~ 130/140lbs on the seat many many times.

I normally use the factory valve in LS applications unless I am going to a larger diameter or it's a severe power adder application. 180lbs seated is the norm. I've never had an issue. A standard replacement manley or ferrea is going to add a substantial amount of mass to the equation for sure. If you look aftermarket then only consider hollow stem.
