BBC 2 piece Timing Cover

Post by toolmakeron »

Need some input, about which 2 pc aluminum timing cover to use. I saw the Comp, CVR & Cloyes ones that are out there. Does anyone know who else makes them. We are on a bit of a budget here, & the $ 200 + Comp is out . There has to be more mfg of these T Covers. Google didn't get me much results. Thanks guys

I use the Comp cover, and like it. But I've wanted to try a CVR for a while now. I have not used the Cloyes, because it does not allow me to do everything I want, although I do use their timing set.

I seriously doubt you're going to find a really good cover that does not leak for under $200. You don't always get what you pay for, but you rarely ever get what you don't pay for.

I just did a BB Chevy where I used their two piece cover, and it worked out very well, and did not leak a drop..

Yep, we've been using the Comp for 7 years, and they have never leaked a drop. I use red hi temp Permatex RTV to seal them.
