Baby running scale model of a Ford 300 straight 6

Post by nickmckinney »

I am in awe myself, all done by hand no CNC

He was a pattern maker and CAD modeler at Ford before he retired. I said running but I don't think its running yet, but it will be from what I see.

Sounds cool, but you have to be a member and logged in to that site to see the pictures. None you posted here show up, and I'm not allowed to look at them when I got to the link either.

There is a thread about it on the Home Shop Machinist board. There were also treads showing the T5 transmission and 9" rear end. In those, he mentions the scale 302 he built but I don't remember seeing any pics of it. This guy does very impressive work.

I as well have a Mini-Lathe and Mini-Mill. The are quite easy and fun to use. That site has some real serious craftsman's on it. There are also plenty of videos and pictures on google about it too.

That's cool. I wonder if it will wear out the #1 cylinder wall behind the water pump like the old full sized 300's did.
I used to be a people person, but people ruined it.

Wouldn't it have been cheaper to build a mini-SBC? I mean Chevy aluminum is so much cheaper and if the water pump goes out you can find one anywhere...

Sorry :( … after hearing that for the last 40 years I guess I just snapped….
