The new picture's perspective shows the depth of the notch you have been dealing with and makes it easy to see why there was a leak. Your repair should do the trick. There is plenty of detail in your picture which shows the burrs in the end of the tube you installed. Use a larger drill bit to twirl between finger and thumb to deburr the inside of the end of the tubing.

Not much you can do about it now unless you have more helicoil inserts but the helicoils are installed too deep such that fewer threads of the bowl screws are engaged. Also, to avoid the wreck you will have if a bowl screw actually does go deep enough to hit the installation tang of the coil insert, you should use a small punch to break off the installation tang ends of the coils you see down in the holes and pick them out. Compressed air should blow them out after they are broken free of the coil, though you may need to pick at them to orient them to come out.
