Renegade fuel...

Postby 18gullwingdragboat » Tue Jul 03, 2012 12:18 pm

FYI - just walked into place that sells Renegade by drum to inquire as to price. I'm a small-time
Customer for this business, but have spent a little money with them and I'll continue to use them when I have a need they can fulfill instead of Summit or Jegs. I like helping small businesses when I can.

After getting a price quote and letting them know what I get VP for, I discover the price is comparable. Right then, they tell me then stick with VP as it's a much better fuel. I wasn't exactly surprised to hear them tell me this, but then they tell me their own car operated by the business runs VP exclusively!

If they don't run what they sell...

I am not trying to bash Renegade, but with their own distributors using the competition, doesn't that say something?

Thank you for helping support small racing businesses , that's the only way racing is going to survive .
As for your story , it seems a little more like an infomercial for VP than an actual true event . And of course if you weren't intent on bashing , exactly what was the purpose of posting it ?
I wonder why a shop would invest in an inventory of Renegade Racing Fuels to then turn all their customers away and into another brand . Seems a little silly doesn't it ?
Your story does seem to have a few holes in it .

Well if you want to come out and call someone a liar, just go ahead. It happened at 11:15 am today, CST. Not going to throw the business under the bus because I like them.

I don't use Renegade fuel but I have a problem with you. BIG QUESTION???? Why would you come here or anywhere and post what you did, not expecting a follow up from the guy that sells it? Why didn't you post in the General section?

You threw Renegade under the bus so why stop now? [-X

Lost our local VP dist/dealer about 2-3 years ago and the next closest is about 90 miles.
Luckily Renegade was our saving grace due to a couple dealers setting up about exactly that same time within 20 miles.
Can't say I've done hours of dyno testing but the cars that were winning on VP110, 112, and 113 are still winning on Renegade pro 110 and about $60-120 a drum cheaper than the VP was depending on which. Better than every 110 I have checked on paper of comparable price.
Not a single fuel related engine issue to date.
That is on all the steel headed stuff I work on.
Slowly getting all my crate customers that are still jumping thru hoops to get CHP to convert to Ratman Elite Crate fuel. Also cheaper, and no different on dyno according to reliable sources I do know that spend hours testing.
Currently I don't sell any fuel or get any fuel free/discounted, so my only bias is price/availability when performance is not affected.

Wasn't trying to promote VP or slam Renegade. Just said what happened when I went to check on price on Drum of 110. I just ordered drum of Sunoco Supreme from Motorsports Authority in Conway, AR this afternoon for 440.00 which is 15 less than a drum of VP Blue and 18.00 less than the Renegade. I also would have had to drive 2 hours to pick up the VP, so factor in another 65.00 in vehicle gas to get there.

Location will always play a big part on racing fuel prices, I am in Texas and sell VP, I checked with Renegade on what it would cost me to get Renegade here... by the Truck load/88 drums of fuel and although they offered me some very good pricing, by the time I ship it here, try to set a dealer vs racer price I could not sell it for any less than VP and would still be making the same per drum profit on one vs the other....because VP runs trucks through here I can get VP 4 drums or more delivered to me at no cost.

Although I personally believe VP is the best fuel on the market based on the testing I am aware of, But I do not know of any back to back test with Renegade, I could arrange it through David Vizard if the guys from Renegade would like to use a Trusted third party for such a test...it wouldn't hurt my feelings to find out what fuel is better, although it would just suck if it wasn't available in my area.

I am in no way contractually obligated to any one in the fuel industry and I believe competition makes better products and gets rid of the ones that can't live up to there claims.

Get a grasp indeed...

I guess if you don't know how to spell - then you could consider anything misspelled. Read before you post. That or get an education past 4th grade.

Sunoco Supreme and C-12 both run equally well in my boat, so I use either. I had been considering Renegade; encountered what I did locally and haven't tried any yet.
