when yous say fill the block, what exactly is it? i know some of the motors there are filled with concrete but they are drag cars. if the engine were to be high rpm for long periods of time, will filling it effect it in a bad way?

My 377 build:
4.155 bore
3.48 Stroke
6" h-beams
14.5:1 domes
world Sportsman heads that were HOGGED out...like 300cfm at .650 (don't know the rpm limits)
hurricane intake.
830cfm carb
274/286 @ .050
.640/.640 lift. (.700 with the right rockers)
109*

this engine would probably have went 8000rpm easy, but I NEVER took it there.
I started shifting it at 6400, then 6600, then 6800...etc....ended up at 7300 before I lost the lifter, but each step netted quicker times.

I know I was still down on power, in a 2500# car short shifting it at 7300 it ran a 6.13 @ 113, this is about 572 horsepower.

572 hp @ 7300...and who knows it could have been a 600hp engine If I had let it breath the way it wanted to.

hope I helped....

scat makes several flavors of 3.5 stroke crank with 400 mains so no need to run main bearing spacers. I have one of the forged std. weight ones here now looks pretty decent. havn't measured it yet. putting it together for a 2bbl S/S engine.

You need a 400 block to start with.
the dart shp blocks can be had for
around 1600 I believe, and should live
A very long time with good parts, machining,
and assembly..
