New Symetrical Port Australian Pro Stock Casting

Post by RayJE Carburetors »

Here is the new Symetrical SBC casting that Rino Conte from RC Engines in Adelaide ,Australia has developed with Darin Morgan. i will post more details for Rino when we have them later on tonight time permitting....they are ready to rock and roll.
They are cast at Profiler /HITech castings. THe intake valve has been placed in the chamber so that a 2.300 valve in a 4.220 bore isnt shrouded. Majorwork has been on the water jacket area of this head... it is a 1000HP head as cast.

The first set if heads are on Emilio Spinozzi's 400Ci Prostock engine...which made over 1100HP...and they ran 193+MPH in testing yesterday. Price is around the 2100-2200US per casting as cast with seats and valve job, it is also available cnc ported with one of Darins ports for around 2600US each. Prices are estimate at this time... .... will get more info asap..

here are a few shots during development.

It has been designed to use SBX rocker gear. Maybe Darin will chime in as well.

the short turn looks funny in the photo because it is sectioned where there is a vane on the short turn..... there will be a version for 4.500 bore space blocks as well as the 4.400 blocks

All these have been fixed. Previous picture posted in this thread are of the prototype. Valve train geometry, valve locations and everything we could think of have been optimized. We left nothing on the table with this one; It took two years and an effort of five key people to get this head to market. Rino, Ryan Storey (cad design work), Mike Green, Ray franks and of course myself went ALL OUT on this one. We have made a Canted valve SBC head that makes 1000hp on a 440cid engine and costs less than 7k complete. I am getting some updated pictures of the final product. Ray and everyone involved with this project are very excited to get this out there. Out of the box with a valve job and minor blending you’re looking at 365cfm @.500 and 435+cfm @ .800 with a 2.250 intake valve. The intake valve locations have been optimized for a 2.265 1.600 valve. A 2.250 intake is .235 off the bore wall. We are bringing to market the most cost effective solution to producing over 1000hp with a 440cid SBC engine.

I will go on record and say that this is, by far, the best head I have ever designed. I have never been more proud to be associated with a project in my life. That’s how pumped up I am about this head design. This head is pure power, period. End of story.

Valve train will have a part number very soon and specs will be posted as soon as we have worked them up. After the first few sets are in competition and we have solid dyno and ET numbers we will update everyone.

I have not been this excited about one of my cylinder heads since the Raptor.

That sounds like a good price for the level of head that you are getting. Normally for something of that caliber it is well outside the price range for the average guy. Thank you for designing these. It is well appreciated. I may be interested in a set for my SBC (399.9 ci 4.190 bore x 3.625 stroke) when you get them into production.
