5.3 LS maximum overbore

Postby sbwrench » Sun Mar 20, 2011 11:04 am

I've searched but came up blank. I have a 5.3 iron block LS type engine from a 2000 Silverado and it will end up in a Miata. I know I can go at least to the 5.7 piston but would like to go bigger. All LS type engines share the same stroke and rod length except the 4.8 and LS7. I want to goes as large as possible as cheap as possible by hopefully using an oem piston and my stock internals. Any thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help. BTW, it won't see boost.

5.7 is as big as it will go. Cyl walls will get too thin if you go any bigger.
