I HAVE A SET OF EDELBROCK 18 DEGREE VICTOR HEADS FOR A SBC THAT HAVE TITANIUM VALVES WITH BERYLLIUM COPPER SEATS.MY QUESTION IS,CAN I RUN STAINLESS VALVES ON THE BERYLLIUM VALVE SEATS SUCCESSFULLY?I HAVE ONE BENT EXH VALVE AND CAN REPLACE ALL 8 EXHAUST VALVES WITH STAINLESS FOR ABOUT THE SAME PRICE AS 1 TITANIUM VALVE.I DONT INTEND TO GET OVER 7500 TO 7800 RPM.

You might check ebay for good used Ti valves at bargain prices.

I don't see why not? Ask a few of the pros (Dodge freak, erland, anyone, meux, anyone?)

And stainless last MUCH MUCH longer, with MUCH better wear characteristics...

IMO, you don't need titanium or hollow core TI unless you are looking for that extra extra edge against unstoppable competition at high rpm... Or if your rich and like changing valves all the time...

It did'nt, I'm just messing w/you. One of the better cup builders used them on the exhaust for a long time a few years ago. Good stainless are nearly 30 each to most people. Off the top of my head a t/2.150-1.80 weighs 105 and a stainless x about 85-95 dep on the lenght size.Thats how I do it. Stuart.

Why will I need all that stuff if I use the same stem diameter stainless valves?

Weight of the valve is much heavier.. you will probly need a bit more spring... or at least check what you have and make sure it will go to the sufficient rpm that you want with good control still.

I would just use the Ti valve to replace the damaged one. The rpm loss may be as much a 500 going with the heavier valve. And yes the spring package should be checked because of the weight difference.
