I can see why you want to get it right the first time.
Some nice work there... Don't need to scrap it all.!!

On the 383 boat motor I'm doing right now we milled .030 off the heads and it took .040 off the intake to get the intake right so the 1.2 number must be fairly close on a small block.
70 mustang coupe restored with the help of my Dad and LOTS of friends. 306 490hp/398ft lbs t56 magnum 5.00 gear

Also the way madbill described is how I figured it out. I shimmed it out with feeler gauges until it lined up and figured out the difference from the intake gasket.
