How many ponies do you need ? (how fast do you need to go) what is the weight w/driver.

I'm building a 540 right now, 315 heads,10.4 - 1 comp. edel. intake, dominator carb (1250,cause I like it.lol) and a Lunati s/roller cam, that is matched to the setup to keep as much comp, as possible for pump gas. shud make right around 700 hp, and run 10.10 in a 3000 car

I might add,, the cam is around 255/263 - .680 lift, but I like the cam timing @.050.

Don't know much about E85 but those carbs look pretty small
I wouldn't consider anything less than an HP1000 for gas,,

Don't think you are going to see power to 7000 with those heads & intake on a 540 either or is that the highest you intend to turn it?

Why such low compression with E85?

Here are a couple on pump gas to compare to that I did recently with Pro Systems HP 1000's & Victor Jr's that were very well ported

if you going with E85 Make the comp more like 12-1 and go with at least a 1000hp . the comp cam 11-800-9 looks nice for a street car.

Dedicated E85 engine, then you are leaving a lot of power on the table at 10.7 to 1 CR imho.

Please consider more like 13.5 or 14 to 1 CR unless you might have to burn 92 or 93 octane in it.

Oh, and btw, our mid Missouri winter E85 blend can be as low as E70 so you would need to make sure that you are buying real E85!

wolf that is the highest i intend to turn it the 10.7 comp will work good on the e85 and still work on 93 octane too, and i thought the holley 1000 hp carbs were only 850 with no choke horn, i had one and compared it against a regular 850 and that is what it was
