What would be the best mechanical injection set up to use on a 305 Sprint car engine? I have not been around this type of racing so I don't know what is being used or works the best. Does any one use a carb?

A smaller size like 2 3/16" is real common for small displacement class's.There is a crap load of Hilborne stuff available and easy to setup.Best thing is cheap too.Depending on what head you can use and intake gasket you are limited to the hilborne stuff is the way to go

You have to use the Racesaver head that is a 23 degree std port Brodix made just for the 305. You can not modify it at all. How would a Ron's toilet bowl work compared to the Hilborn style?

I would think the Hilborne would be better with individual runners all the same as apposed to a plenum. Tuning stack length is easier then filling the plenum. I have never used a toilet set up so I have no accurate details to compare to. But most sprint cars use this style of injection. I have seen the other type used in more unlimited class's like the oswego style super mods and the outlaw offset super's as well but they had simple engine rules like " only 1 engine allowed" run what ya brung.
Enough time and money will almost make any set up work.

I think the single 4 barrel deal would be problematic with the manifold being the cork. Stacks are most common on sprint cars partially due to heritage. I just read the rules looking for "stack only". There isn't so there is no reason that a tunnel ram/hat system couldn't be used. Add a tractor puller type air cleaner to it and rock on.

I built a V/4 Chevy some years ago using 1/2 an Edelbrock Victor Ram with a Toilet. We cut the throttle plate size down to 2.75" and it ran like a champ. We tried 2.25" Hilborn stacks on it with no gain, in fact the Toilet set up was better up top and was much simpler to deal with.

CRSA tour runs on tight 1/4 to fast 1/2s . all about getting fuel system right . we had ours done by waterman we have run very good with the 360s when tracks slick up.
